A visa is required for travelling into Bhutan. The following information, along with a copy of your passport should be arrived to us at least 6 weeks prior to the date of your arrival in Bhutan in order to process your visa. Tourists will need to carry 2 copies of original passport-sized photographs, which are required on arrival in the country. A visa fee of US$ 20 per person is payable in cash on arrival, at the point of entry. Visas are approved in advance and a visa clearance number is issued by the Minisry of Foreign Affairs. Without this visa clearance number, tourists cannot board the flight or enter the country. A copy of this visa clearance is forwarded to the concerned Druk Air stations and other entry points by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and we also fax the same copy to our clients for their reference. While the actual visa is stamped on arrival, the initial visa clearance is also required at the time of issuing Druk Air Tickets.
Visa approvals are only issued to authorized travel agents when you book your tour. Once the approval has been issued it is then possible for your agent to book your flight. It is not possible to book seats prior to the visa approval being issued so it is important to confirm your trip and provide your agent with a copy of the details page of your passport as soon as possible.Your actual visa will be issued on arrival at Paro Airport. Cost is USD20.
