Dudh Kunda Trekking

The sacred lake of Dudh kunda lies at the base of Mt.Nambur, the mountain regarded by the locals as being the home of the protective deity of Solu. Among the two major trekking regions of Everest one is khumbu and next is solu. In the solu region newly exposed trekking area is called dudhkunda. Pike Danda lies in the lower Everest region is an exciting route for nature lovers. This Danda (Hill) has over 108 natural water springs encircling the hillock. Beautiful and captivating picturesque views from the hillock and authentic indigenous cultures and rituals of Sherpas to be experienced on the way are some of the memorable attractions of the route. Positioned just to the south of the Everest the trail passes all the way through authentic Sherpa villages. From the Linkhu Khola the route gradually ascend up through terraced fields, then rhododendron and magnolia forest. The trail leaves villages at the back and climbs up through hemlock firs to the cheese factory at Ngaur. The summit of Pike Peak exposes panoramic views of the Rolwaling Himal, Everest, Numbur, Karyiling, Khatang and Makalu massif as well as a great number of other snow-capped peaks ranging from Mt. Kanchanjunga 8586m, Lhotse 8516m, and many other mountains in the setting. Golla village shaped on a hill in an elevation of 3000m splendidly adorned by antique and festive monasteries is richest village for Sherpa culture offers extensive mountain vistas.
