
Panch Pokhari is named after 5 holy ponds and Hindus religiously respect the place. Pach pokhari situated to the north east of Kathmandu valley and west of Rolwaling Himal is named after five holy ponds. This is pilgrimage place for Hindus and it has five holy ponds at the height of 4010m. The region presents natural, cultural and geographical diversity. The beautiful Himalayan range and pristine nature with different culture are major highlights of this area. The Pancha Pokhari (5 lakes) offers an excellent view of Jugal Himal range Rolwaling Range and Langtang Himal Range. The main peak is Lenpo Gang or big white peak (6979m), Dorje Lakpa (6986m) and Ganchempo (6387m). Helambu, It is located nearly 70 km north of Kathmandu valley. The area is an inhabited by sherpas, Tamags and Chetrries.
