Tengboche Monastery Trekking

Tengboche is an important Buddhist monastery in the mountains of the democratic republic of Nepal. It is in the Khumbu region of north-east Nepal, the home of the Sherpas. Tengboche is famous because of its spectacular and unique location. It lies on the main route to the Base Camp of Mount Everest and offers the first clear views of the highest mountain in the world. Tengboche became known to the world after Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzin Norgay Sherpa made the first ascent of Mount Everest in 1953. Tengboche Monastery trek takes you around the Everest region, which has recently witnessed the renaissance of Tibetan Buddhism with the renovation of Thyangboche Monastery at (3860 m), one of the world's highest Buddhist Monasteries. Lamaistic Buddhism plays an integral part and is influential in the lives of these Sherpa people. En route Buddhist Nyingmapa monasteries and monks, the ever-present yaks, high pastures and mountains that are unforgettable in their gem-like presence, will fascinate you. Reincarnated Lamas, the Yeti's scalp, saffron robed monks and legendary mountains of Khumbu - Everest (8848 m), Kwangde (6187 m) Ama Dablam (6812 m), Lhotse (8501 m) and Nuptse (7879 m) offer a stupendous backdrop for the experience a lifetime

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu & transfer to hotel

Day 02: Early morning transfer to airport for flight to Lukla (2840 m) & trek to Phakding (2610 m).

Day 03: Trek to Namche Bazar (3440 m)

Day 04: Acclimatization at Namche Bazzar

Day 05: Trek to Tengboche (3860 m)

Day 06: Trek to Khumjung (3780 m)

Day 07: Trek to Thame (3820 m)

Day 08: Trek to Monjo (3840 m)

Day 09: Trek to Lukla along the gorge of the Dudh Kosi. Your trekking crew might prepare a farewell treat for you.
               You would be expected to join in the singing and the dancing!

Day 10: Fly Lukla to Kathmandu

Day 11: Rest day in Kathmandu

Day 12: Final departure
